Why was my Christmas better than yours?

Because this year Mr. P presented me a fossilized Megalodon tooth.

Sharks are pretty fantastic and big sharks are even better. Ancient sharks that were larger than whales -- they pretty much trump all other creatures even perhaps the giant squid.

It's hard to grasp how big these sharks really were, this tooth is about three or so inches tall, about as big as the palm of my hand.

Theres some wear and chipping on the serrations from feeding.
