Fightin Crime
City of Angels & Big Slobbery Dogs

Mr. P went to visit Pete and Melanie in West Hollywood. I had to stay behind and work which means I missed seeing:

1. The new place
2. Pete and Melanie

3. Pesto, the lovable horse-size dog and his friend Hoyne, the bad animal

4. L.A. shop cats

5. The Plastination exhibit, which from reports I’m better off missing. Evidently, Gunther von Hagen is a ghoul who must be stopped seeing as both Pete and Mr. P felt so dirty after the exhibit they had to go for a long walk in the canyon. If you’re not familiar with the work I suggest you google, it’s an eye-opener. If you become intrigued and would like to will your body to the good doctor you can send in a form that says that paying for a dead body is technically illegal but wink-wink-nudge-nudge is still a grey area if you know what I mean.

6. The Museum of Jurassic Technology that really is a shame I missed but Mr. P brought home books and pictures so it’s somewhat okay.

7. The canyons and surrounding desert area. Which I’d love to see at sunset for myself since Mr. P’s pictures look like they were recovered from a camera found at a crime scene off a deserted stretch of highway.

While he was gone the Sci-Fi channel had a “Day of Zombie” film festival so that took some of the sting out of missing the trip. If you haven’t seen Night of the Comet I suggest you do so right away. Red-eyed zombies and valley girls in the 80’s are an intoxicating mix.

Mr. P did bring me home this great toy shark that has a half eaten victim at one end. If you pull the string the shark chomps his way up the line thrashing his tail until he eats the unwary swimmer. It’s pretty great.

Because I like my sharks blood thirsty, thank you.
