I saw parts of Oakland that I hadn't seen before. The upscale, unique shopping and restaurant part as opposed to the scary crackden part. Then we went through Berkeley and saw all the places where I've bought things through the mail or on-line like Dharma Press and such. Stumbled across famous restaurants like Chez Panisse just hanging out like a normal eatery on the main drag.
And less famous places like King Dong fine Cantonese dining.
