The buses in San Francisco run on electricity. Without a diesel engine there’s absolutely no noise from the engine so when the bus stops it’s deadly silent which means you can hear every single word of any conversation. It takes some getting use to because, well, it’s San Francisco and most of the time I don’t want to know what other people are talking about. So I’m thinking Muni’s tagline should be something like:

Muni – Now environmentally conscious enough to force you to overhear conversations about your seat-mate's three-way last night or the fourteen-year-old girl who plans to name her baby Satan Diablo or how to scam $1.00 for booze before going to your court mandated visit at the treatment center.

I agree it could be tightened up a bit. I’m still working on it. It just doesn’t encompass the 60’s patchouli-soaked nostalgia crazy person rant wannabe puck rock kid vibe in a succinct way.
